43.4% of Europeans (EU) under 30 think it’s essential to live in a democracy. This number is down from 56.2% for Europeans over 50. However, not even a third of all young US-Americans (29.2%) think so while 57.4% of Americans over 50 do so. 1

At the same time, the share of youth travelling is constantly rising (they already account for 23 per cent of all international arrivals)2 and young people name exploring other cultures as their biggest motivation to travel.
